Winterfest 2012 - New Haven, Michigan

Winterfest 2012

Just posted a new album over in my photo gallery of images I took while hanging out around Winterfest 2012 in New Haven, Michigan. I had a real good time up there, even though this is the least amount of snow they've had in years. Of course there was a blizzard coming down while I was trying to get out of town. It took an hour and a half and forty miles to finally get to semi-plowed roads and up to a fairly normal driving speed. And yes that is a giant Angry Bird sliding down the side of the hill in the photo you see above.

I made it all the way back to town and there was no snow what-so-ever on the ground around here.

Photo Gallery Reset 2011

I just brought a newly reset and redesigned photo gallery on-line. Almost all of the photos you find inside I took on various road trips or outings. Feel free to take a look around over there; also I hope to keep this a little more up-to-date than I did with the last iterations of my galleries.

Anna, Illinois - March 2010

Just got back from a weekend getaway down in Anna, Illinois in Union County. My girlfriend and I spent weekend hiking, eating Swedish food, taking photos, and relaxing at the Davie School Inn Bed & Breakfast (we stayed in the Blue Suite.. this trip).

Even though it is officially off-season, pretty much everything is open and running. So you can enjoy all of the attractions without the crowds and lines of people that normally swarm the wine country during the warmer months and when Fall rolls in.

Nashville, Indiana 2010

Nashville, Iniana

Back from Nashville, Indiana, down in Brown County. I highly suggest a long weekend getaway to the area. There is a nice little artists community in that area, and you can find some really unique items mixed in with the usual tourist shops.

We tend to go down there in the off-season winter months because the crowds are thin, and the deals are plentiful. Plus it is a lot easier to interact with the local residents and learn about some of the local interest spots. Also don't forget pick up one of the value discount cards at the tourist center. It's well worth the minimal cost for all the great deals you can get with it; seriously it will probably pay for itself in the first day, and it is good for the entire year.

I've also upload some of the images that I took while I was down there to my gallery on my site: Nashville, Indiana February 2010.

Brown County Indiana

This weekend I am going to be spending a long weekend down in Brown County Indiana. It is located in Nashville, Indiana. This is my third trip down to the area, and there is always something to do whether you want to hike or shop, or just hang out by the fire.
