Who is Ryan in Madison, Wisconsin?

Rabid Squirrel Kung-Fu

In 2007, while waiting for my girlfriend at a coffee shop, I created my Rabid Squirrel Kung-Fu design you see above. I uploaded it to Zazzle and placed it on several different products they offer over there, and even entered it in a design contest they were hosting and won first prize (but that is another story). I know what you are thinking: "That was three years ago, why are you posting this now?"

The reason for this post is one of interest on my part. Not long after I created the design a single person purchased 12 of the shirts that you see above in various sizes. Though it is not the only time I have had someone order a number of the object at the same time, so that is not the most interesting part.

The original order was sold to someone named Ryan in Madison, Wisconsin. I was happy that someone liked my design enough to buy multiple copies; but since I do not have access to any other data about the order such where the shirts went or what they were used for when the get there, other than the basic info normally the story ends there.

Until last year, when about this time of the year Ryan from Madison was back and bought a half dozen more of the same shirts. Again, it nice to have repeat buyers of anything that I design, but now it made me interested in what the shirts are ordered for, and why they were ordered in bulk twice. Is it a family thing? A softball team? A squirrel fighting Kung-Fu academy? I may never know.

Today the mystery was revieved once more, because another order for six more of the shirts just hit my Zazzle queue. So who is Ryan in Madison and what are the shirts used for?

If anyone happens across this post, and has seen the shirt in the Madison area, or knows Ryan, drop me a line. I would love to see what these shirts are being used for.

If not, I will have to wait and see if more of them are ordered again next year.

A couple of people have now sent me this link to the softball league schedule in Madison. It looks like we may have an answer to the little mystery. It has not been fully confirmed, but it seems like this is a logical explanation.
